Preschool Open House

B and B are starting preschool next week! Last Monday, we attended the open house for their preschool. We have them enrolled in a 2 day a week preschool at a local baptist church. We feel very lucky to have gotten them into a 2 day a week program because most of the local preschools require kids to have turned 3 by July 30th to attend a 2 day program. When we enrolled them, the director told us that B and B would be in the "young 3" class since there were several other kids who would be turning 3 also between September and December this year. Much to my surprise, when she listed off the classes at open house, B and B were not in the "young 3" class, but in one of the 3 year old classes. I think it will be good for them to be around kids a little bit older than them. Their teacher, Mrs. Gloria (also the assistant director), has been with the school since it opened 38 years ago and has taught the 3 year old class all those years. We feel very fortunate to have such an experienced teacher! I am praying though that I don't get sent home the letter stating, "In all my 38 years of teaching, I have never...." They have several field trips scheduled throughout the school year, such as going to the pumpkin patch, Paradise Park, a firestation, and Deanna Rose Farmstead. B and B are excited to go to school and they like wearing their new backpacks! Brynn even asked to wear make-up to the open house:) We are excited for them too, but also nervous hoping all goes well this school year.
