B and B started Kindergarten last week on my birthday! After 2 years of Pre-School and 1 year of Pre-K together, we decided to put them in separate classes. Brody didn't really say much about starting school. He did want to know what I would be doing without him and if I would be home when he got home (he knew I was starting my new job that day too). I think he was a little nervous. Brynn was sooo excited to start school! I asked her if she was going to miss Brody at school and she said, "No, I'll see him in the cafeteria." Then I asked her if she was going to miss Daddy or me? She said, "No. Mom, I am going to be having so much fun that I won't even be thinking about you!" She also knew that none of her friends were going to be in her class. I asked her if she was sad about that and she said, "No, I'll just make new friends." She has become "Miss Independent!" They were so excited to get to take their lunches and to ride on the school bus! They both got right on the bus and never even looked back. I shed a few tears walking back to our house.
It had been kind of a joke between Bryan and I that if we didn't get a call home the first day about Brody's behavior, then it was a good day at school. Well, I did get a call home, but it wasn't for behavior problems. The school nurse called to tell me that Brody had gotten stung by a wasp on his ear at recess. His ear was pretty swollen still when he got home from school. When they got home that afternoon, they both said that they liked school and loved riding the bus!
