Christmas Recital

Brynn had her first dance recital last Thursday at Sni-A-Bar Elementary in Grain Valley. Her dance class performed a tap routine to Frosty the Snowman. I was anxious to see if she would actually dance or if she would act shy and just stand there. Fortunately, she danced and did a great job! We were so proud of her and she looked so cute!

 

 

 

 

 

Santa

We ran into Santa at Wal-Mart in Maryville a couple of weeks ago! Brody went right up to Santa and told him that he wanted a train set for Christmas. Brynn was a little shy about meeting Santa, but she did tell him that she wanted a new polka (blanket) for Christmas.

Lighting Ceremony

We went to the Mayor's Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in downtown Lee's Summit a couple weeks ago. We spent some time walking around downtown and visiting some of the local stores. The lighting ceremony was really nice and the downtown looked beautiful. There was a local elementary choir singing Christmas songs and Brynn even got to see a ballerina perform. B and B loved getting to see Santa's reindeer and watching Santa ride into town on a firetruck! However, I think they enjoyed playing with their glow sticks the most!

Thanksgiving Feast

B and B had their Thanksgiving feast at their preschool last week. Their class was Indians again this year. All of the kids looked so cute in their hats sitting around the table!

4th Birthday Party

We celebrated B and B's 4th birthday with a party at our house with our families. B and B had a great birthday and loved all their gifts! Their big presents were a 4 wheeler for Brody and a table and chair set for Brynn (so she could have a tea party with her dollies). We didn't have a theme for their birthday this year, however they both wanted to wear their Halloween costumes for their party!

 

                                     

 

 

 

 

Halloween 2012

Brody was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and Brynn was Strawberry Shortcake for Halloween this year. They had a blast trick-or-treating and got a ton of candy!

 

4 Year Doctor's Appt.

Last week, B and B had their 4 year doctor's appt. (1 week early). I didn't tell them that we were going to the doctor until we were getting ready to leave that day because I had told them a while back that they were going to get shots. Brynn had been very upset about this and had been talking about it a lot. Luckily, they brought home a book from school about Big Bird going for a check-up and he had to have a shot too, so they knew more about what to expect. As soon as I told Brynn where we were going though, she burst into tears:( Fortunately, they only ended up getting a flu shot. They both were very brave and Brynn only cried for a little bit. Brody told me he was going to be brave and that he wasn't going to cry and he didn't. I think he thought about it though. Brody was 42 lbs. (91%) and 42 in. (84%) tall. Brynn was 44.5 lbs (84%) and 43 in. (97%) tall. They both passed their vision and hearing tests with no problems. The nurse was in tears crying when she was finished testing them and came back into the room. She said that they both had seen the mouse on the computer screen and told her the same story about the mice we had been catching in our garage. Ironically, neither one of them knew that the other one had told her the same story! They had a great doctor's appt. and they are so excited about their birthday this week!

Pumpkin Patch Fieldtrip

B and B went on a fieldtrip with their preschool to the pumpkin patch last week. They had a lot of fun playing and running through the maze, roasting marshmellows, and picking out a pumpkin. They both loved the wagon ride, especially when they went really fast!

 

 

Belated 34th Birthday!

Amaizing Acres
