Christmas 2011

We had a great Christmas this year! B and B got a lot of toys, so they have been in toy heaven! Brody's big present this year was a farm set. Some of his other presents were a tractor, trackhoe, semi, transformers, pirate ship, remote control car, nerf gun, helicopters, Toy Story movie, etc. He has been very busy running all over the house playing with his toys with Daddy. Brynn's big gift was a doll house. Some of her other presents were a Rapunzel doll, Cinderella baby, doll, My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake doll, Barbie, Barbie car, dress up clothes for her and her babies, Beauty and the Beast movie, puzzle, etc. She has been very busy being a good "mommy". They are having so much fun with their new toys!

Santa

Last week, we took B and B to see Santa. Brynn told me that she wasn't going to cry when she met Santa. Well, neither of them cried, but neither of them would really smile either. I did get them to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas. Brody told Santa that he wanted a dinosaur. The one thing that "Santa" didn't get for Brody this year. Brynn told Santa that she wanted a Cinderella baby (a baby doll she saw at Kohl's that resembles Cinderella). Luckily, "Santa" did get that for Brynn already. Eventhough we didn't get smiles for our Santa pictures, I thought they both looked pretty cute in their Christmas outfits.

In Loving Memory

Bryan's Grandpa, Murle Russell, passed away at their family home in Knob Noster last week. He was 96 years old. Murle had suffered from Alzeheimer's Disease for many years. We are very thankful that we got to see Grandpa Russell a few weeks ago on Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures. We love you Grandpa Russell! We know that you are at peace in heaven with Grandma Betty.

Decorating For Christmas

We finally put up all of our Christmas decorations. Brynn requested candy cane lights for the yard, so we even have those. She saw them in our neighbor's yard and thought they were pretty neat! We have been reminding B and B that Santa is watching them and their behavior. They are more than willing to do most anything we ask if we remind them about Santa. They have seen Santa a few times at Bass Pro Shop and they think he lives there, eventhough we keep telling them that Santa lives at the North Pole:) I had a "Proud Mommy" moment this week when Bryan told me that he took B and B to Home Depot with him and the door greeter asked B and B about Christmas. They both said that that was Jesus's birthday! Bryan said the door greeter seemed surprised to hear that and said that she didn't think many kids were taught that anymore. It makes me proud to say that my 3 year olds know the real meaning of Christmas. B and B are even going to have a birthday party for Jesus next week at school.
