Well, what a week of visits to the doctor. On Monday afternoon, Brody woke up from his nap with a fever of 104.1, so we headed to Children's Mercy South. He was diagnosed with a left ear infection and croup. Much to my displeasure, the doctor prescribed Amoxicillin for him. I explained that Amoxicillin didn't work for any of us, but she was insistent that that was what he needed. On Wednesday, he was still spiking temps, so I took him to KU. We didn't get to see our PCP, but we saw another attending at the Clinic. She told me that he didn't have an ear infection, just fluid on his ear and that this was viral. At this point, I am very annoyed because I didn't think this was viral and I wanted Augmentin for Brody. On Friday, Brody was still having a lot of congestion and having temps. I emailed their PCP and she called in a script for Augmentin and he is doing much better! He is still having some congestion, but is not having any temps and he is acting like the Brody we know. Brynn just finished the last of her Augmentin this weekend. I take them back next week to have our PCP take a look at their ears to make sure their infections are gone. I feel all of this could have been avoided if the Mercy doctor would have just listened to me in the first place. In the future, we will be going to KU only. As you can tell in the pictures, Brynn is quite proud of her teeth and shows them off all the time. Brody finally has two whoppers coming in on the bottom. I guess we will cancel our investment in the denture stocks:) On a side note, the twins will be getting baptized in September. That should be interesting...we had to take them both out yesterday in church multiple times. Brody was fussy because he doesn't like to be held for very long and he was tired. Brynn decided church would be a good time to start yelling. The louder the church sang, the louder she yelled. I had to laugh at one point because I whispered to her that she needed to whisper and she jabbered something back to me in a whisper like she knew exactly what I meant:) That lasted about a half second. I even had another church member come up to me and tell me she was going to be a good singer someday! Ha!

Farnan Reunion
We have had a busier week than usual. On Wednesday night, Brynn spiked a fever of 103.6 so Mom and I took her to Urgent Care at Mercy South. I had given her some Tylenol before we left and by the time we checked into Urgent Care her temp was up to 104. She was diagnosed with a viral sore throat, viral rash, and a right ear infection (still had an ear infection from before). Poor baby girl had a rough couple of days. Brody has also been fighting a bad cough and congestion/runny nose. I haven't taken him in to the doctor yet, but I am going to make him an appointment if he doesn't get better in a few days. On Saturday, we went to Conception for the Farnan Reunion. It was so nice to get to see everyone! The food was fantastic, especially the meat! Thank you to everyone who helped entertain the twins, especially Claire. Brynn really enjoyed being carried around by Claire. Hopefully, we will be making this an annual tradition!

2 Full Time Jobs
It is now officially a full time job watching the twins! Brody is completely mobile and very fast. He has become the "leader of the pack", which is good for Brynn because she has become a very fast scooter trying to keep up with him. Brody is constantly getting into everything! He loves to play in Truman's food bowl, pull the door stops off the wall, play with the plants, etc. He is quite fearless too! He has been pulling up to everything including the front glass door and trying to see how long he can stand without holding on. I have also caught him pulling himself up on the cable cord that runs from the tv to the wall outlet. He is also becoming a good stair climber. By the time I get him away from doing something, Brynn is into something! Brynn loves to be in secluded places. She likes to crawl into her closet and play with her shoes. The other day I left her alone on our bedroom floor while I went to the bathroom. I came back out and she was gone. I looked for her and was calling her name and she was nowhere in sight. Then I heard this little whimper and that's when I saw her toes peeking out from under the bed skirt. She had crawled under the bed and gotten stuck! She is still talking a lot and I am proud to say that she said "Mama" last week! Today, we took the twins to Legacy Park Community Center to the pool and they hated it! We think the water was probably a little too cool for them. Hopefully, they will like the pool when they get a little older!

Back From the Lake
We hope had a good Fourth of July! We went to Stockton Lake on Saturday to spend the holiday with the Maddens and our friends, the Howeys. We had a really good time on the lake jet skiing and swimming. We decided to not take Brody and Brynn to the lake at the last minute because it was too hot and humid for them. They did look cute in their swim suits for the short time they had them on though:) Thank you Grandma Madden for babysitting while we were on the lake! B & B crashed at about 8pm that night, so they didn't get to see any fireworks either:( Bryan and I ended up not going into Stockton to see the fireworks display because they were already in bed, but we did shoot off some pretty fireworks later that night. We have all been sick. I have been sick for a week now. I have been on 3 different antibiotics and still feel pretty bad. I guess it is viral. Brynn is almost done with her antibiotic and seems to be feeling great! Brody is still having congestion/runny nose. We ended up putting him on an antibiotic last week too. Then we got Grandma Farnan sick also:( Bryan seems to be the only one not bothered much by all this crud going around. Hopefully, we will all feel better soon!
