Movie Night

The three of us had movie night last night. Brody picked out Atlantis: Milo's Return and Brynn picked out Strawberry Shortcake: The Berryfest Princess Movie. We even made brownies (Brynn's choice) for our movie party. B and B miss Daddy a lot when he is away working, so I have been trying to keep them busy. Brynn did start crying during her movie telling me that she missed her Daddy. She is a "daddy's girl" and they have a special bond. Hopefully, time will go by fast for them and they'll get to see their Daddy before they know it.

Diamond Bowl

Last night, we took B and B bowling for the first time. They loved it and are already asking to go again! They both did really well, especially Brynn. We just might have a 'lil bowler on our hands.

Valentine's Day

This was the first year that B and B had somewhat of an "understanding" of Valentine's Day and were able to participate in the holiday. Brody chose dinosaur cards and Brynn chose princess cards to hand out to their classmates. They were so excited when I picked them up from preschool telling me about their day and showing me all of their Valentine's Day cards and candy. They each got a Curious George book from their teachers, which I thought was really nice. After preschool, they were able to play in the snow in the backyard for a while before it melted. They had so much fun! They also got to open their presents from Mom and Dad. Brody got a dinosaur and Brynn got a princess phone set. The day ended with their choice of pizza (pepperoni) from Pizza Hut. They had a great Valentine's Day!

Coloring Fun

Last Thursday, B and B had a fieldtrip with their preschool class to Burr Oak Woods Nature Center. The fieldtrip started with a discussion about the different seasons and what happens during each season. Then we went for a walk through the woods and looked for animals and talked about all the different kinds of things we find in nature. Lastly, we came inside and looked at the turtles, fish, and snakes on display and played in the activity area. B and B really enjoyed watching the snakes. They also had various other stuffed animals on display. Since the weather was so nice, they were able to have their snacks outside at the picnic tables. It was very interesting to watch B and B interact during the fieldtrip. When we were walking through the woods, Brynn pretty much stayed within the group and was quiet and shy. Brody, on the other hand, was right up front ahead of the rest of the group with the tour guide and taking everything all in! They both had a great time on the field trip and the weather couldn't have been better!

The Legends

We went to the Legends of Village West today to go to the Nike Store and to the T-Rex Cafe. B and B have went through a growth spurt and have outgrown the shoes we bought for them last summer. They wear a size 10 now! Brody is really into dinosaurs (and airplanes) these days, so we decided to take them to the T-Rex Cafe. I had to laugh when we walked through the front door and a huge dinosaur started making noises and Brody asked Daddy to pick him up:) They both loved the cafe and really enjoyed watching the big fish tanks!

Playing Dress Up

Brody refused to play dress up. He did want me to take a picture of him with his airplanes though.
